I consider myself most fortunate to be able to live my life as an artist. My enthusiasm for creating art has never wavered and my obsession for watercolor painting has been my focal point for over 40 years.
I've always felt a responsibility to share as an artist. Through exhibiting my work as well as teaching workshops throughout the country and abroad, I can share the lessons I have learned with others who are eager to experience the creative challenge. My college training was based on formal realism. Through the years, I have challenged myself to go beyond painting what I see, by painting what I feel. As an artist, I'm always exploring new techniques, methods and subject matter. I hope to express my inner vision through paint on paper by interpreting my response to nature and how alive it makes me feel. Since 1998, I have incorporated the human figure into my landscapes in an attempt to express the natural rhythm of man and nature. My goal is to create work that speaks from my heart, my inner vision. Hopefully, my art work will touch others. Joye Moon earned her B.F.A at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Joye has continued her education by working with professional artists such as Timothy Clark, Stephen Quiller, Zoltan Szabo, Tony Van Hasselt and Karlyn Holman. She has taught workshops though out the United States and Italy, France, Spain, Mexico and the Bahamas. Her work has received over 50 international, national and regional awards. Joye's work has been included in books such as Splash 8 by North Light Books and 100 Ways to Paint Flowers and Gardens by International Artist, as well as Searching for the Artist Within by Karlyn Holman. |
